In early 1996 the Community Access Program Site (formerly Community Internet Access Centre) was established at the Sioux Lookout Public Library. The Site is in operation thanks to the following individuals and government organizations:

Special thanks to Marianne Williamson, the Community Committee Chairperson that brought the CAP site to life in 1996. 

The CAP site provides service on an annual basis thanks to funding from Industry Canada.

CAP Site Objectives

 

promoting public awareness of the benefits and opportunities of using information technologies and services

 

helping citizens become better informed through the exchange of ideas and information

 

coaching individuals in the use of services available through information technologies

 

supporting on-line delivery of government programs and services

 

facilitating business activities such as electronic commerce
